First time using an Edible Cake Topper

I had never used an edible cake topper before, it was cute enough after I adding decorative icing around the edge. It was kind of plain with out some kind of decorative color added around it needed some definition. The thing I did not like much was I followed the directions, and when we went to cut into the cake, it did not cut well and everyone was picking theirs off of the cake. so if I were to order another one, which like I said was cute and just what we needed for our Littlest Pet Shop theme, but I would pull it off before cutting the cake.
